At Bryngwyn Surgery, prescribing is overseen by our Clinical Pharmacist, who works closely with the wider clinical team. We are committed to safe, effective, and evidence-based prescribing, and we actively support antibiotic stewardship – this means we will only prescribe antibiotics when they are clinically necessary, to help reduce resistance and protect public health.
You can order repeat prescriptions in several ways:
NHS Wales App – The quickest and most secure method. You can request your medication anytime via the NHS Wales App.
Email – Send your full request (your name, date of birth, and medication details) to:
📧 prescriptions.w93046@wales.nhs.uk
In Person – Drop your repeat counterfoil (the right-hand side of your prescription) into the prescription box at reception.
By Post – Post your counterfoil with a stamped, self-addressed envelope and we’ll return your prescription to you.
⏱️ Please allow 72 hours (3 working days) for your prescription to be processed. This helps us maintain safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
📦 If you’ve nominated a pharmacy, we’ll send the prescription straight there for collection.
In line with NHS Wales guidance, most repeat prescriptions are now issued on a 56-day cycle. Your prescription will be updated at your next medication review.
You may be eligible for Repeat Dispensing, where your pharmacy is authorised to issue your medicines directly over several months without needing to reorder each time. Ask your GP or pharmacist if this is suitable for you.
